“Dear PoPville,

I loved your post “Small gestures”. I experienced something similar myself.

After a rough day navigating executives orders, I met a friend at Boqueria to unwind. As we talked about the dark cloud looming over our agencies-

the forced retirements, colleagues suddenly finding themselves on the Jan 6 list – a stranger sitting nearby leaned in and asked if he could buy us a drink.

I haven’t thought we were talking loudly, but maybe the weight of our words carried. Every day brings something new, and many of us are facing uncertain future. But in moments like these, a small act of kindness – a simple gesture from someone who didn’t have to care – goes a long way.”
