Dear PoPville

“Possible rat poison on public sidewalk”

“Dear PoPville,

I wanted to warn the Shaw & Truxton Circle neighborhood about possible rat poison left out on the public sidewalk. The substance has the bright green color of common rat poisons that are also lethal to dogs, cats, and wildlife.

This is especially important for dog owners and walkers in the area.

The location is Ridge Street NW, between 4th St NW and 5th St NW, on the southern side and closer to 5th St NW — near the church located at that corner.

I am currently at the doggy ER with my poor dog, who ingested this substance before I realized what was happening.

It’s incredibly reckless for anyone to leave out rat poison on a public sidewalk in a residential area teeming with pet dogs and cats, not to mention young children. I’m furious.

Pet owners — beware.”
