The benches started getting replaced properly a couple weeks ago. Good to see them progressing nicely:
At that time the Park Service shared:
“This week, volunteers from Helmets to Hardhats, along with our Historic Preservation staff, are repairing the benches around the Dupont Circle fountain. Using materials provided by the Dupont Circle Business Improvement District, the work requires care & precision. Thanks to everyone involved!”
The last time we noted new benches were installed was back in 2010.
