“Quite a colorful sign on the Little Free Library at 10th and Massachusetts NE.”
The full text:
“On the evening of August 18,, an unknown vandal, with malice, spleen and gall, broke the glass window of the Little Library at 10th & Mass. A lot of work went into building that Little Library, which has been used daily by neighbors who bring books and take books. Apparently someone hates books. This, in addition to several break-ins of cars over the weekend.
“Not much can be done, other than to repair the damage which will take time.
“But, a respected elder of great mystical powers has been consulted and engaged. Measures have been taken.
“THEREFORE, Be it known that
“For the vandal that with malice and venom hath broken THE GLASS OF THIS LIBRARY, a library of service to many neighbors, let his hand change into a serpent and rend him.
“Let him languish in Pain crying aloud for Mercy and let there be no surcease to his Agony till he sink in Dissolution.
“Let Bookworms gnaw his Entrails in token of the Worm that dieth not, and when at last he goeth to his final Punishment, let the flames of Hell consume him for ever and aye.
