I had a similar experience to this person.
Basically, I was at Kramer Books on Saturday, February 17, sitting at one of the high top tables against the wall in the lounge, across from a friend.
I hung my bag on the hook on the wall next to me, and hung my jacket over it. I didn’t notice anything until I left Kramer’s around 7pm and immediately got fraud alerts for all three of my credit cards for attempted charges at the Target in Columbia Heights. I emailed Kramer’s when I got home, and they were able to send me some security footage where a couple stood at the table behind me, rummaged through my bag, and then left. I didn’t end up losing anything except the cash that I had in my wallet, and was lucky that the Target charges triggered the fraud alert.
