“Dear PoPville,
Tonight (Thursday) my neighbor was carjacked with cops several blocks away. I live on the first floor and noticed someone in the street with their hands in the air in surrender as cars revved on our normally quiet street. Moments later she was knocking on my door begging for help.
My neighbor had been carjacked by 4 men with large guns in a sedan. They pulled up beside her and two men flanked her driver and passenger door and yanked on the handles. She stepped out and they tried to take her Apple Watch and asked her if she had cash or cash app. They then got in her car and tried to speed off, but didn’t know how to turn off the emergency break. Thankfully MPD was on the case within 10 minutes and her car was found deserted in a parking lot in DC somewhere. We all anticipate the day we will have this happening to us. Thankfully she is unharmed and we have a good neighbor network to take care of each other. Stay vigilant.”
