“Right Proper Brewing Company is pleased to announce our third location, coming to Eckington next fall!”

From a press release:

“After celebrating 10 years of business on Sunday, Dec. 10, Right Proper Brewing Company announces its third location in the Northeast DC neighborhood of Eckington. A 4-minute walk from the Metropolitan Branch Trail, this new destination sits at 1625 Eckington Place NE, DC, tucked between NoMa and Brookland.

“We’ve been intentional with our growth since our founding, focusing on keeping our businesses sustainable, not growing for the sake of growing,” says Right Proper co- owner Leah Cheston. “Right Proper has always strived to be a part of and an amenity to the neighborhoods it is in. We look for neighborhoods with residents proud of their community and areas we can provide for and become a true partner with, and we believe we’ve found that in Eckington.”

Right Proper co-founder Thor Cheston adds, “The Eckington location will allow us to further our mission of being the beer for people who call Washington, DC, home.”

Floor-to-ceiling windows will offer a chance to view the seven-barrel brew house while garage doors open up the dining room to the woonerf — a private, cobblestone street offering opportunities for community events. Inspired by Belgian bistros, the main dining room will have clean, modern surfaces, allowing an approachable, upscale environment. A mezzanine serves as the perfect space for friends and families to gather for lounging and board games, and a private space allows for large groups and private dining. The popular Right Proper cheese counter will offer a curated cheese selection for pairing with craft beer on-site or at home, alongside a counter to pick up to-go beer and food along with all the Right Proper swag. Of course, it wouldn’t be Right Proper without at least a few fun murals.

While Right Proper beer from all locations will be served here, the beer brewed in Eckington will focus on traditional-style ales and lagers and provide a pilot opportunity to test beers on a smaller system before producing them on a larger scale at Right Proper Brookland, which opened in 2015. This allows the expansion of the wild-fermentation-in- barrel program in the Shaw location.

Guests can expect a similar, full menu to the loved one at Right Proper Shaw, coming from the scratch kitchen led by Executive Chef Jonatan Bohr. Classics will remain a staple, such as the fried chicken sandwich, peanut Thai chili Brussels sprouts, and beer-battered cheese curds. Seasonal menu changes and nightly additions will evolve depending on the neighborhood and demand. Along with house-made beers, Right Proper will continue to offer wine on tap, spirits and a small cocktail list, craft sodas, and NA beverages.

This new, 180-seat brewpub will fill nearly 5,500 square feet of the Eckington Yards development, sitting across from Bouldering Project, beneath multifamily units, and close to Alethia Tanner Park. Tucked in the neighborhood, the restaurant will be a perfect spot to catch a big game on TV or the projector. And if heading there from elsewhere, this location is a 10-minute walk from the NoMa-Gallaudet Metro station.
“We’re thrilled that Right Proper chose to open its third DC location at Eckington Yards within the NoMa BID,” said Maura Brophy, NoMa Business Improvement District President and CEO. “We’ve loved partnering with the Right Proper team through our popular Metropolitan Beer Trail program linking 11 local breweries and bars that are all walkable or bikeable from the Metropolitan Branch Trail. We look forward to welcoming another local brewery to the Metropolitan Beer Trail and the neighborhood.”

Right Proper Eckington is expected to open in the fall of 2024, serving beer for the soul and food for the belly seven days a week.”

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
