700 7th Street, NW

From a press release:

“Dos Toros, the renowned San Francisco-inspired taqueria known for its Mission-style burritos, is pleased to announce that its first D.C. taqueria—located in the heart of Chinatown at 700 7th Street NW —will open Tuesday, December 5 at 11 am.

To celebrate opening day, Dos Toros will award a grand prize of a $500 gift card to a lucky winner who correctly guesses the number of burritos the brand rolled in the past year, with any guest who purchases an item on opening day eligible to participate. Additionally, Dos Toros will be offering complimentary burritos to the first 50 customers in line, along with swag, and a spin to win prize wheel awarding free guacamole, salsa, entrées and more.

“Opening our first location in Washington, D.C., is a dream come true. We are excited to bring a piece of the Mission District with us to this dynamic and diverse community,” says co-founder Leo Kremer. “Our mission has always been to craft exceptional food and connections with our guests and we can’t wait to become a part of the Chinatown neighborhood, sharing our love for great food and great company.”

The Bay Area-inspired taqueria offers an array of menu items including burritos, quesadillas (crisped, melted, filled and then tri-folded), tacos served in warm corn tortillas, bowls, fresh salads, and plant-based items. The menu’s signature Mission-style burrito, a cult-favorite item that the brand is known for, is meticulously built by adding each layer of ingredients beginning with monterey jack cheese melted cheese on a steamed tortilla, guacamole made with only the ripest Hass avocados, and made-from-scratch beans. Guests then select a choice of protein––from braised pork shoulder carnitas (cooked low and slow for 12+ hours), seared pollo asado, spiced chorizo, seared carne asada made with sirloin steak and a dried chili rub, and spiced sweet potatoes.

Signature sauces like the smoky, verde, habanero, creamy chipotle and spicy avocado goddess are all made from scratch and make the perfect addition to any Dos Toros entrée, along with sides such as nachos, queso blanco, pico de gallo, corn salsa, and housemade corn tortilla chips.

Happy Hour is available all day long and features beer, wine and tequila seltzers. Additionally, starting on December 6th from 7:30-10:30 am, guests can order the breakfast burrito made with bacon, steak, chorizo, beans, cheese and eggs. Dos Toros also has two seasonal menu items: spiced brussel sprouts which are caramelized and dusted in a special spice blend and braised ancho chicken, marinated and cooked in a sweet and savory spice blend with Mexican Coke.

For the debut of its Chinatown location, the brand has partnered with local nonprofit DC Central Kitchen for a community-driven event––“Rolling For a Reason”––taking place on Monday, December 4 from 11:30-2:00 p.m. and 5:00-7:30 p.m. 100% of sales from the event will be donated to DC Central Kitchen in an effort to aid the fight against hunger in the District.

Stay tuned for more information, as Dos Toros will be opening its second D.C. location in Dupont Circle at 1350 Connecticut Avenue NW in the coming weeks.

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
