“Dear PoPville,
Serious question. I grew up driving in LA. I’m used to aggressive drivers. As an itinerant government employee, I’ve lived in a lot of places, but the outright rudeness and lawlessness of drivers in the DMV is insanity.
I’ve never seen a local publication that has a column specifically devoted to crazy car crashes. People don’t follow common courtesies, much less traffic laws. I can count on two hands the number of blatant traffic law violations I see everyday commuting in DC. Today is the second time in 3 years that I’ve had someone throw something at my car and the first time said crazy person followed my car until I led her into the middle of U Street traffic in rush hour (hope you enjoyed that you, lying piece of shit).
Seriously, how do long term DC residents stay sane while driving? I’m sick and tired of people driving like assholes and I’m afraid I’m going to get shot because I can’t bring myself to tolerate this BS every fucking day.
Please don’t tell me to bike or metro. I have a toddler, and with the hours I work, I’d like to be able to see the little guy awake for more than an hour.”
