MPD’s “New H Street Unit Arrests Serial Package Thief”

From MPD:

“Officers from the Metropolitan Police Department’s New H Street Bike Unit arrested a man for stealing multiple packages on Saturday, September 16, 2023, in the 600 block of G Street, Northeast.

At approximately 2:17 p.m., officers of the First District’s new H Street Unit were actively patrolling the H Street corridor when they were flagged down for a theft in progress. They learned that a suspect had stolen multiple packages in the 600 block of G Street, Northeast, before fleeing.

Through exceptional teamwork and a thorough knowledge of the H Street corridor, the officers of the H Street Unit quickly located the man and recovered all of the stolen packages. 41-year-old Daniel Lazarus Greene, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with Theft II.

The new H Street Unit was established to support residents and businesses, enforce criminal violations, and enhance public safety in the H Street corridor. “We have already received many compliments about their work from the public,” First District Commander Colin Hall shared.

MPD would like to remind residents to take precautions when having packages delivered to their home. When possible, bring packages in as soon as they arrive. If you are out, ask a family member or trusted neighbor to hold on to your delivery until you get back.”

Finding a gift for moms can be difficult. Google “Mother’s Day gifts,” and you’ll scroll through endless lists of beauty products, candles and fuzzy robes. Sure, those are sweet, but sometimes it’s fun to surprise loved ones with something a little more, well, practical!

Here’s one idea: Give her a gift certificate for a home cleaning from Well-Paid Maids. It’s the perfect “thank you,” “I love you” or “you’ve got this” for any mom. She can schedule the home cleaning at her convenience and breathe easy knowing she has one less thing to do.

Our cleaners will take care of everything, including vacuuming and mopping as well as cleaning and dusting countertops, tables, mirrors, appliances and more. Sinks, toilets, showers and appliance exteriors also get a good scrub.
