Kelly’s Irish Times Building For Sale and rarely has there ever been a more brutal, coming/potential, end of an era

14 F Street, NW

Ed. Note: In December 2022 we shared the sad news that Kelly’s Irish Times announced “the passing of our founder and patriarch, Hugh Kelly”.

Thanks to Brian K. for sharing the massive news that Kelly’s Irish Times Pub is for sale:

“14 F St NW represents a rare opportunity to acquire a freestanding restaurant/retail building only two blocks from Union Station on the border of the Capitol Hill/East End submarkets.

The subject property is approximately 6,000 SF split over two levels. The street-level space features an open dining and seating area with multiple bars and a fully built-out commercial kitchen. The lower level provides additional seating, another full bar, a storage area with a walk-in freezer, and two access points directly to the kitchen. The space could be utilized for private events, standup shows, or other large events. Additionally, there is a covered outdoor patio at the front of the property providing seating for around 20-30 customers. There are two alleys to the rear of the property allowing easy access for deliveries directly into the kitchen. The current tenant Kelly’s Irish Times has been at this location for over 40 years. This is an ideal opportunity for a sophisticated operator to renovate and redesign the space to create an attractive bar or restaurant destination in a prominent location in the heart of Washington, DC.

Building currently assessed at $3,411,540. Unclear how much they are asking but I and I imagine so many others can not put a price on this gem.

Irish Times is currently open so go get some while you can.

STAY TUNED.

We’re about a month out from summer. That means you’ve still got time for spring cleaning!

Lexi Grant, an operations manager at Well-Paid Maids, shared her go-to spring cleaning tips with WTOP News. Step one? Declutter. Get rid of items you don’t use, find space for items that need a home and organize those areas.

Then, it’s time to dust. Lexi starts with high-touch surface areas (think: refrigerator, dishwasher, counters, microwave). One area she sees often neglected is the bedroom — and it makes sense. Heavy furniture is difficult to move around, but it’s important to really get in there so dust doesn’t affect your sleep.
