“Dear PoPville,
I was threatened by a man with a hammer walking down Connecticut Ave at Ablemarle St. this afternoon (2:53 pm.) I was walking my two dogs on the sidewalk. The man was walking towards us and stopped when he was about ten or so feet away.
He made direct eye contact with me and then suddenly slammed a hammer into the metal frame of the bus stop on the corner with full force, all the while staring straight at me. He then started walking towards me with the hammer held half-cocked and I bolted down Ablemarle. I called 911 but I have no idea what happened next.”
