I’m hoping to renovate my kitchen soon and I need help. I have bids from contractors to do the actual work, but I am stymied when it comes to making choices about finishes and appliances. It seems like you can go cheap (well, less expensive) with a contractor who just installs things, or WAY expensive with a full service firm. I want to go with a contractor and hire someone to help me come up with a plan for the contractor to execute.
Are there kitchen design professionals who work on an hourly basis? When I search the web, I get lots of “design studios” that are actually full renovation services, and want to sell their specific products. I’m looking for someone to present the options and talk through the pros and cons, and crucially, someone with experience with various brands and models of appliances, etc.”
