For anyone who didn’t get the news, this currently greets visitors to Wilson Aquatic Center. Not sure the reason, but they’ve been having problems with the hot water for showers and the HVAC. DPR Alerts doesn’t give an ETA for reopening and, based on their radio sil nice during December’s closure, the safe money says they won’t this time, either…
I neglected to mention that last night there was already a sign on the door that today the facility is closed to the public until 4 pm for the DC State Swim Meet (DPR Alerts doesn’t, as of me sending this, clarify if the meet has been rescheduled/cancelled/relocated).
I have to add that I love the staff at WAC — Andrew, Valerie, Evette, and everyone else (even that one grumpy lifeguard) — and feel badly about the earful I imagine they’ll hear from some patrons once it reopens…!”
