Sports & Social “sports-themed restaurant” coming to former Smith space on U Street


1314 U Street, NW

The Smith closed this location back in December 2021. The liquor license placard for Sports & Social says:

“The Establishment will be a sports-themed restaurant serving American foods. Seating Capacity of 222 and a Total Occupancy Load of 308. Sidewalk Café with 36 seats. The licensee is requesting an Entertainment Endorsement with Cover Charge to provide live entertainment inside the premises only. Licensee is also applying to add Sports Wagering to their operations. Establishment will offer geo-fenced mobile applications inside the premises, 15 physical betting devices, and 2 betting windows.”

Sports & Social Bethesda’s website says:

“Sports & Social Bethesda offers its guests an elevated food and beverage experience including made-from-scratch game-day favorites, curated cocktails and a beer selection that includes local favorites

from Flying Dog Brewery, Denizens Brewing Co., Silver Branch Brewing Company and 7 Locks Brewing. The 7,692 square-foot venue offers a dog-friendly exterior patio for al fresco dining and a signature Crush Bar featuring a large selection of specialty crush drinks.”
