“Dear PoPville,
I definitely missed my opportunity this morning (Wed.) to connect with someone who I would love to see more of. I was sitting outside of Cafe Unido at La Cosecha having a coffee and writing when
I noticed a femme person slowly walking their adorable older dog and crying. I asked if they were okay and they shared that they were recovering from surgery related to their chronic-illness and were in excruciating pain. They had to walk their dog at least a little bit so they could recover from surgery but they were having such a difficult time. As a disabled and chronically-ill person, I really empathize and appreciated their honesty. They seemed to have a sense of humor about it as well, which very much fits with how I see my own experience of illness and disability. I really would love to connect with this person at some point if their interested, whether if it’s for me helping with morning dog walks or to be friends or just to build more disabled community here. “We take care of us,” is a sentiment needed now more than ever.”

PoPville is not affiliated with either party, please proceed with any potential connection at your own risk using caution as you would any online encounter. For those curious about past missed connections, many have been made and when possible I’ll try to update when/if more are made. This week’s Chicken and Whiskey MC was connected (as friends!)
