Glover Park

“a bunch of dogs aggressively ran up to me and surrounded me on the trail.”

“Dear PoPville,

I was taking a nice walk in the woods Friday afternoon on a trail from 44th St. NW to the Glover-Archbold trail. I was a minute west of the Glover-Archbold trail when a bunch of dogs aggressively ran up to me and surrounded me on the trail. They were growling and barking as if they were about to attack me.

Their owner, about 50 yards away, did nothing. In total there were five dogs, all off leash. I did not move but was preparing for what might come next. After a while they went down the path to their owner. They were all blocking the path down to the Glover-Archbold trail, where I was headed, so I waited for the man and his five dogs to move out of the way. After a few minutes they started to come back up the trail. I got off the trail and out of their way, but the dogs did the same thing. They ran up to me and surrounded me, growling and barking. Again, the owner did nothing. Finally, the owner whistled, and the dogs started to go back to him. And then he said some antagonistic things to me, and blamed me for his dogs’ aggression. I reminded him that all dogs, and especially aggressive ones, need to stay on leash in the park. He swore at me. I just want people to beware of this aggressive, reckless person and his aggressive dogs.
