“Demonstration Activity Expected on Area Highways (again) Today”

Ed. Note: Yesterday disruptions were reported on I-395, I-695, and I-295 starting around 1:30pm.

From AlertDC: “Due to demonstration activity expected on highways in and around the District of Columbia today, motorists should expect potential traffic delays. The Metropolitan Police Department is prepared to implement traffic control measures, including rolling road closures, as needed. Updates will be provided through the Alert DC system. 12:30pm Update:

“The Metropolitan Police Department has closed a number of freeway exits to keep traffic moving safely through the area. These rolling road closures are occurring in real-time as they are needed, and will be lifted as soon as they are no longer necessary. We thank our residents and businesses for their understanding and patience. Additional updates will be provided through the Alert DC system.”
