Today* in Hawks* around Town – Bald Eagles at Banneker

Thanks to Thomas for sending: “I was surprised to look out from my apartment and find two bald eagles perched on the field lights over Banneker Park across from Howard University.

Both birds sat on the lights for a few minutes looking around and taking in the morning before one took flight, immediately followed by the second. They both did a fly-by of the Howard dorms and then continued down Sherman Ave, perhaps toward the Potomac to catch themselves some breakfast.”

If you spot a hawk, any interesting wildlife or celebrity skateboarder Tony Hawk, and get a good photo please send in an email where you spotted it to [email protected]. Thanks! Hawks around Town is made possible by a generous grant from the Ben and Sylvia Gardner foundation.
