“Neighbor decided to knock over my motorcycle and left a note. Maybe you can post this so I can answer the message.”

“Dear PoPville,

I got a parking ticket on my motorcycle a few days ago. I guess I must have missed one of those temporary No Parking signs people put up. I found the bike knocked over along with this note.

I’d just like to say a couple of things to my mystery neighbor:

1. I’m sorry about your kid’s birthday party, I really am. I have no idea how leaving my bike parked there ruined it, but as a parent myself, I understand your frustration.

2. I work in the emergency department and I have two young children. I’m pretty busy, so sometimes I don’t check on my bike for a few days at a time.

3. I did not see any sign.

4. Those signs are usually for moving trucks. I’m not sure how anyone could have known it was for a kid’s birthday party.

5. I’d love to talk to you about the situation. Maybe someone can put us in touch, or maybe you can put your name on the next note you leave. [Ed. Note: You can email [email protected] and I can put you in touch with OP]

Thanks!”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
