“RPP price jump effective March 1”

“Dear PoPville,

This text comes from an email I just got from DC DMV reminding me to renew my vehicle registration.

Also, the cost of Residential Parking Permit (RPP) will increase effective March 1, 2021. Any registration with RPP renewed after March 1, 2021 will be subject to the new fees.

New annual RPP Fees per household are: 1st Vehicle–$50, 2nd Vehicle–$75, 3rd Vehicle–$100, and $150 for each vehicle thereafter.  Also, one senior RPP per household for $35.

Based on a quick Google search, I can tell this rate change has been under discussion since at least May 2019, but I can’t find a press release or official announcement about it on the website, despite the fact that it takes effect in two weeks.

In other parking news, DDOT continues to instruct folks to use their 2020 visitor parking pass while they revamp that program. Changes there are expected sometime this year.”
