From Dog Tag Bakery:

“Georgetown’s famous Dog Tag Bakery is expanding to Jamestown‘s Georgetown Park for the holidays, using retail space for their holiday gift boxes operations. The bakery offers a five-month fellowship for veterans with service-connected disabilities, military spouses, and caregivers to gain first-hand business experience.

Veterans like Jackie Melton greatly benefited from this program which helped her and her husband launch their own business in 2019. After serving in the Marine Corps as a Lieutenant Colonel for 20 years and then spending time with her family she felt the desire to return to the workforce and was accepted into the fellowship. The program provided her with an opportunity to learn from top industry leaders and scholars from Georgetown. Jackie’s favorite part was the rotations where the cohort learned each aspect of running the bakery and of course snacking on their famous Warrier Bites

Dog Tag Bakery’s innovative approach combines equal parts classroom, bakery, community, and wellbeing. Dog Tag Fellows earn a certificate of business administration from Georgetown University; bring their coursework to life by learning the ins and outs of running a successful business in the bakery; build community with each other, and enhance their wellbeing by committing time to introspection and personal growth.

Every year, Dog Tag Bakery sells holiday gift boxes, which helps fuel their mission to empower veterans, military spouses, and caregivers to find renewed purpose and community. Over 40,000 fresh-baked products are assembled into three different size holiday boxes. Signature items like their cookies, brownies, and blondies, all handmade at the bakery, are included in the boxes. Each year approximately 2,200 boxes are made and shipped around the country. The additional space at Georgetown will be used to assemble the boxes so that all volunteers and DTB seasonal employees can be safe and socially distant.”

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
