DC Fire & EMS reported starting at 6:14pm: “Water rescue Potomac River vicinity Joint Base Bolling. Credible report of 3 people who fell from vessel and have not resurfaced. #DCsBravest Fireboats and other units + @DCPoliceDept Harbor Division conducting active search.”
at 8pm they reported: “Update Potomac River water rescue. Sadly, after an extensive water, land and air search for over 2 hours, this incident has transitioned to a recovery operation. 3 adult males remain missing.
A number of assets are being released.”
They confirm OP’s comment: “Today’s tragedy of 3 people gone missing off a boat in the Potomac River is a grim reminder that you and your loved ones need to wear a personal flotation device if you want to safely enjoy the water.”
