Thanks to Stephanie for sending: “In 2016 we dug out the basement of our row home in the U Street neighborhood. The basement was unfinished but did have a cement slab that was relatively new. The contractor broke up the slab and to dig down three feet. During this process, this jar was found under the slab, somehow in one piece! The markings on the bottom indicate that it was made in West Virginia in 1939.“
