“Thanks for all the memories…”

701 7th Street, NW

Thanks to Kyle for sending: “Bar Louie Chinatown closed”

End of an era. Back before there were options Bar Louie was a huge go to spot for those who worked in the area or before events at the MCI Center. A bit reminiscent of when The Greene Turtle closed around the corner. For those not familiar with Bar Louie:

“BAR LOUIE IS THE NATION’S HOTTEST GASTROBAR, DEDICATED TO REVOLUTIONIZING YOUR DINING EXPERIENCE.

WE BEGIN EVERY DAY WITH THE PURE CONVICTION AND PASSIONATE BELIEF THAT “RESTAURANTS BITE”.

AT BAR LOUIE, YOU CAN SEAT YOURSELF AND BE YOURSELF. YOU’LL NEVER HAVE TO ENDURE ANNOYING BLINKING, VIBRATING PAGERS, SNOOTY WAITERS, OR ULTRA HIP MENUS.

WE PROUDLY SERVE SHAREABLE, MOUTHWATERING, CHEF-INSPIRED GRUB, CRAFT COCKTAILS & LOCAL BEERS THAT WILL ROCK YOUR TASTEBUDS.

ALL IN A FREE-SPIRITED SPACE DEVOID OF BOREDOM AND SILLY RULES.”

Farewell Bourbon BBQ Pork and Pineapple flatbread:

Updates when we learn what becomes of the space.
