“And it is a stark reminder of how much homeless youth struggle just to get off their feet.”

“Dear PoPville,

I’m sure you remember hearing the story back in 2018 of the young homeless kid who was being confronted by police with a gun, and then saved by a woman – Anthony Williams.

A go fund me was set up, that raised over $25k.

I contributed and often looked back to find out more about how his life may be going, but never found much.

He had such a heartbreaking story. He had been featured on Invisible People (see above), and he shared his story about losing his mother to cancer, and being homeless throughout the years. I always wished there was a way I could help him.

The DC police just named the victim in the stabbing that occurred at Union Station a few days ago, and it was Anthony Williams. I didn’t want to believe it; my jaw dropped. I did some online digging and finding some social posts that confirm my deepest fears.

Just so tragic. I’m heartbroken. Many people in DC will remember his story. And it is a stark reminder of how much homeless youth struggle just to get off their feet.”
