From an email:

“The Capital Candy Jar has partnered with local ice cream makers Ice Cream Jubilee and South Mountain Creamery to create an ice cream shop in their Hill East store located at 201 15th Street, NE. To celebrate the launch the new ice cream concept, The Capital Candy Jar is hosting an ice cream social all day Saturday, July 7th and Sunday, July 8th. All ice cream scoops will be just $1.50 each.

The store will carry a mix of standard flavors like vanilla, chocolate, and mint chocolate chip along with some premium specialty flavors like banana bourbon caramel or passionfruit guava sorbet. Customers can also have their ice cream topped with a chocolate covered Oreo cookie or a chocolate truffle for $1.00 more. “We’ve also added a selection of craft sodas from all over the US that will allow us to offer ice cream floats as well” says owner Dave Burton

To accommodate the new ice cream business, They Capital Candy Jar is changing their store hours. Beginning this July 7th, the store will be open 10am to 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays. They will be open 10am to 9pm all other days of the week except Mondays when they are closed.

The Capital Candy Jar is Washington DC’s Hometown candy company. They have been in business for 4 years and sell their hand made confections in many stores, gift shops and hotels throughout the DC metro area. In addition to their own hand made confections their store features craft sodas, coffee, pastries, fudge, chocolate truffles, and other gourmet treats.”
