D.C. Gov, Feds, Pretty Much Everything is Closed Except for the Usual Bars – Still Waiting for the Snow as of 6:55am

Ivy and Coney (537 7th Street, NW) opens at noon with “$2 beers and $4 combos And, of course, we have delicious Malort to celebrate the snow day.”

Meridian Pint (11th and Park Rd, NW) opens for brunch at 11am.

The Pretzel Bakery (257 15th Street, SE) opens at 8am.

Glen’s Garden Market (2001 S Street NW, 8AM to 10PM and 1924 8th Street, NW 10AM to 10PM) “Both stores will operate regular hours today. Free WiFi, food, groceries, and $4 draft beers all day, everyday!”

Boundary Stone (116 Rhode Island Ave, NW) opens 11am.

In addition to DC Public Schools being closed and a Snow Emergency in effect starting at 9am (don’t park on a snow emergency route) – more closures from ALERT DC:

“DCHR reports the District of Columbia Government will be CLOSED for Wednesday, March 21, 2018.”

“OPM reports Federal Offices in the Washington, DC area are CLOSED for Wednesday, March 21, 2018. Emergency and telework-ready employees required to work must follow their agency’s policies, including written telework agreements.”

“On Wednesday, March 21, 2018 the DC Courts will be open on an emergency schedule only. Just arraignments and juvenile new referrals will take place. Jurors need not report.”

From DCPL: “The Library is closed today March 21 due to weather, but visit http://dclibrary.org/godigital 24/7. Stay safe and warm.”

From the Smithsonian:

“Due to the snowstorm, all our Capital Region museums and the National Zoo will be closed today except for National Museum of American History and National Museum of African American History and Culture, which will open at 10 a.m.

From NWS: “6:00 AM: A band of heavy snow is lifting northeast that will quickly make travel hazardous. Temperatures are below freezing in most locations, so exercise caution even if precipitation is light.”
