1413 Park Road, NW

A reader reports:

“I stopped by Vietnamese Chelsea at Park Rd and 14th St in Columbia Heights this weekend. They have a 20% off promotion to celebrate their grand opening. The fried spring rolls were fatter than Pho 14 and the pho beef broth was more gingery. Everything was very good. Really nice staff, too. I recommend giving it a try.”

Check out the menu after the jump.

I’m glad to have more food options in the area, but picking a location less than 200 feet from another, well-established Vietnamese restaurant could make success more difficult to achieve.

In other news, I saw that Letena Ethiopian Restaurant next to Mattress Firm is open. It was mostly empty, but that’s probably a function of it being the softest open imaginable.

Letena has been open for almost a month now and is almost always totally empty. Bodes ill.

I wanna hop in here and vouch for La Tena! The food was great and prices reasonable. I love that’s it’s fast casual too. Food came out quickly and was quite good – I had the chef’s special beef tibs and the regular beef tibs (two separate visits already). Also recommend the carrot dish as a side!

I hope more people start stopping in soon. I’ve been promoting it to my friends in the neighborhood!

      Looks like it, yeah.
