This is my favorite fake holiday (though I do enjoy peanut butter and jelly day as well.) From an email:

There is a Morton’s directly across the street from my office. I know where I’m getting lunch on Friday!

  • Filette

Does this apply at the Morton’s in Bethesda too???

  • pcat

I was thinking about lunch at Mortons, but they don’t show any prices on their website.

    • It’s basically the same prices as every other big chain “martini style / business lunch” steakhouse.

  • P. Lecheval

Sweet! Can you do carry outs?

    • It says bar area only, so I would assume no.

    • skj84

According to the fine print it does not. And there is a 12 slider minimum per guest. Lunch decision rescinded, I can eat maybe 5 of those bad boys in one sitting, not 12.

      • What? 12 slider minimum PER GUEST? How does that even work?

        • Per the website, it’s 12 max. Very different!

          • skj84

Whoops! Misread! Sorry for the panic guys. Lunch plans back on.

Really? You’re that much of a cheapskate? I bet you bring Tupperware, too.

  • Steak Eater

    Would rather have $10 bone-in fillets . . .

    • jaybird

You mean a T-bone or porterhouse? Those are primarily loin not tenderloin. Either way more flavorful for sure. Filet mignon is tender but lacking in the flavor department.

      • That’s why you make a quick compound butter to slather it in ;)

  • That One Guy

First the donut and now this?!?!? Is this a challenge? If it is, challenge accepted.

I am old enough to remember when these were free at happy hour. One of my closest friends was a first-year associate at a law firm in that building, and we would often go for a free* dinner.
*free = no-cost sandwiches while paying $40 for drinks in 2002.

    • ah

Sure . . . the days of the “free buffet” dinner.

Anyway, 12 filet mignon sammies and an overpriced beer, and you’re still enjoying a tasty and filling me for under $30.
