A reader reports:

“A while back, you had posted about the opening of a bar/restaurant/jazz joint on Georgia and Hamilton, a corner badly underserved by decent retail and food.

It looks like it is being turned into an “Organic Rotisserie Chicken and Kobb [sic]” joint. I think they mean Kabob.”

Hmmm…They really need the rest of the “i” on that sign….Otherwise, the first thing I read is “Organic Rot”, and that’s not really what I want to be thinking about if I’m gonna buy some chicken….

this is the corner with what looks like was once a storefront is painted all black, yes?

And don’t stress about the spelling, things will improve ORGANICALLY.

I really hope the owners prove the ANC wrong here, but I fear this place is going to be another sh!tty food/nightclub in disguise. I guess we’ll see…

The neighbors near Golden Paradise in 14th St & Randolph were just take advantage of big time. Now they’re stuck with a problem nightclub after some of the local do-gooders proved too naive for their own good.

Wouldn’t that be a very odd awning for a nightclub, however?

  • majka

This used to be a run-down laundromat, then briefly a florist. One would hope a major reno would take place before they start serving food…

Whatever happened to “Castello,” or whatever the lounge/bar/nightclub that was supposed to be here was called? Wasn’t there a very big brouhaha over their liquor license? Has that all been ditched in favor of…. “rotisserie chicken?”

    • Tony

Yes. This. I thought we were getting a bar or something.

  • ChickenLover

Right across from the Popeyes?!? I think the neighborhood is not ready for organic rotisserie chicken.

    • anon

If the food is good and not outrageously priced, I absolutely think the neighborhood could support it. Name another reasonable dinner option on Georgia north of Upshur….I can’t really think of one. I still wouldn’t enjoy walking to this place at night, however. Especially coming from the north.

  • I was hoping for another place to buy tires or a liquor store.
