In March we noted Howard China was getting a long needed facelift. The Mayor’s Office on Asian and Pacific Islander Affairs shares the great result:

“After months of collaboration, congratulations to Howard China for successfully completing @DCDHCD Façade Program!”

i’ve passed it a few times now and agreed, it looks fantastic!

  • INWDC

I’m digging that swanky, kitschy logo.

Has anyone ever ordered from Howard China? How is the food here?

    • Notbeingsnobbybut

Their subs and wings are about as good as their Chinese food. That’s not a compliment.

      • Egad

        Eek. Thanks.

        • Jarett

The food is great. Don’t listen to this anon.

What a bizarre comment. It would seem you don’t understand the DC carryout culture. Maybe Bravo Bar up the street is more your speed.

I’ve always thought it was fine. I normally order Chinese food but I think I’ve also had the DC classic “five wings with mambo sauce.” It might not be super healthy food, but its pretty much like every other carryout in DC.

I ate there in 1990 and said never again!

My dog liked the new sign so much she choked on the chicken bone she found in front of the place.

NOw can they address all the rat tunnels? The amount of vermin I’ve seen crawling next to/beneath this place has been greater than the number of patrons walking in the front door.

    • Notbeingsnobbybut

You mean their meat supply tunnels?

  • TMA

You don’t go to Ho-Chi for Chinese food…
You go for a three piece with fries, mambo sauce on everything, with a large half and half…
    Get with the culture…

    • Olu Jimmy

      Long Live HoChi!

Yes. It is a culture. These new gentrifiers just don’t understand. lol
