Your Afternoon Animal Fix

by Prince Of Petworth April 6, 2016 at 3:25 pm 6 Comments

If you have any animal/pet photos you’d like to share please send an email to princeofpetworth(at)gmail(dot)com with ‘Animal Fix’ in the title and say the name of your pet and your neighborhood. Your photos will go into the queue (usually 2 weeks wait) and will be posted in the order I receive them. If you’ve already entered your pet and would like to do so again – that’s no problem – just space the entries out a bit. Please try to send horizontal photos 640×480 (medium size on your iphone) if possible. If you’re not using an iphone any size is fine.

“This is Misha of Takoma Park basking in a sun spot after too many cloudy days.”

“Meet Rutherford Birchard Hayes (“Birch”), of “Anyone Missing a Siamese Cat?” fame, and his buddy Tico. We found Birch’s previous home (He was chipped!), but his people never returned our calls or emails.  Now he delights in terrorizing his dog and human on an almost daily basis.  (Those claws!)  Tico is an 11-year old Bedlington Terrier I rescued last year from a breed-specific rescue organization.  For anyone thinking of buying a pure bred dog, please check out breed rescues before you do.  Lots of adult dogs need good homes, and Tico is the best thing since sliced bread (Sorry Birch!).”

I am glad Siamese baby kitty found someone! My (Siamese) Bean cat says Meow!

  • I love happy endings! Congrats on giving Birch and Tico a new home.

Misha looks like she could be my Tasha’s slimmer twin! And I can’t tell you how happy Birch’s (and Tico’s) rescue story makes me! Thanks for being awesome and giving those two wonderful new homes. I literally can’t imagine not returning calls /emails or rushing to pick up my kitty if either of mine went missing!

I love the story of how Birch adopted you! What a handsome cat.

Birch and Tico’s human here. Thanks everyone! They really are a joy, and if I’m being honest, they rescued me as much as I rescued them. And Misha is so cute! I want to pet her soft little hind feet!

Misha’s pet sitter here. Thanks for posting this, Dan. She’s a beautiful Russian Blue who loves to laze about ordering her humans to groom and massage her – I’m usually her willing victim. I adore her.
