“To the best of our knowledge, the first Nitro draft cocktails on ‪‎Georgia Ave. Spicy Margarita and a Sinnerling Sling now on tap.”

Repeat, Nitro draft cocktails!!! Oh my God that’s some funky shit. Better of the best, best believe they’re the baddest.

Excuse the ignorance but how does a nitro cocktail work?

    • Anonymous

You would put a cocktail on draft as some bars have them, but in this case nitrogen is used instead of CO2. This creates at more smooth mouth feel and would work nice with cocktails that aren’t suppose to have carbonation. At least this is my understanding

For reference, Guinness is a nitro beer.

    ooooh. boi. nice nice.

  • It’s always so funny to me what bars clamor to be the first at in this city. I mean, this isn’t exactly landing on the moon. Just putting two random things together that nobody else decided to do, because why would you, does not an accomplishment make.

They said that they’re the first on Georgia Ave, to the best of their knowledge…quite a different claim than “first in DC”…and what’s funny about differentiating yourself from your competition?

    • BigPuddin

It seems pretty tongue in cheek to me.

        A bar? with sarcasm?

Just something to remember, they can be dangerous if you don’t follow instructions, which we all know drunk people are great at:

    http://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2015/sep/17/oscars-wine-bar-lancaster-gaby-scanlon-stomach-liquid-nitrogen

“A wine bar has been fined £100,000 after a woman needed to have her stomach removed after drinking a smoking liquid nitrogen cocktail handed to her for free.

“Gaby Scanlon, now 20, had been with friends at Oscar’s Wine Bar and Bistro in Lancaster when she was given the Nitro-Jägermeister shot in celebration of her 18th birthday. But upon drinking the normally £3.95 drink she described feeling agonising pain and was forced to loosen her clothing as smoke billowed from her mouth and nose.

Preston crown court heard on Thursday that she was left close to death after experiencing “an explosion” in her stomach four seconds after the cocktail was poured for her.”

    Sound horrible!

This is a completely different thing. It is using N2 as a gas to push liquid through a draft line. You are referring to LN2 that is added to a cocktail after it is poured so it looks like a fog machine.

Ah! Thank you for clearing that up.
