The Prospect sports bar opens in the former Ulah Bistro space tomorrow. Their facebook page says:

“The Prospect channels sporting themes collaged through color and texture with a juxtaposition of vintage, modern, gritty, and unorthodox sports memorabilia

Ed. Note: RIP Momo’s sports bar

The grand opening announcement says:

“We are proud to announce the opening of our newest venture, The Prospect, a vintage twist on the modern sports bar. The Grand Opening will be on Saturday, September 12th and Sunday September 13th, just in time for the NFL season kickoff! We will have a sneak peak (soft opening) on Thursday, September 10th and Friday, September 11th to work out any last minute kinks.

Tailgating begins at 11am on Saturday and Sunday, so arrive early to stake out your spot in front of one of our 40+ Ultra HD 4k TVs. Please be aware that dining is on a first come, first serve basis.

The Prospect boasts a creative combination of stadium and tailgating fare every sports fan will love. Complimenting its culinary program, The Prospect will feature handcrafted cider-based cocktails, house-made ginger beer, and an impressive craft beer selection.”

Momo’s flat out had the best wings in town. They even had a disclaimer on their menu saying they’d give your money back if you didn’t think so.

man this had a quick turn around. Wonder why other stuff takes so long. This place should do well.

Not liking the new exterior — I much preferred Ulah Bistro’s unpainted brick exterior. (Or maybe it was brick that had been painted maroon??)
    .
Also… “channels sporting themes collaged through color and texture”?? Seriously?

I’m fairly certain collage is a noun.

Gritty sports memorabilia? Does that mean its just a bunch of various pictures of David Eckstein?

      Or John Riggins/Pete Rose?

    • Thoma193

Gritty probably just means they have a lot of memorabilia from the 1993 Philadelphia Phillies

Now that you said that, I’m going to be disappointed if they don’t have any David Eckstein stuff. All time leader in GRIT!

  • Saw them working on the mural on the western elevation on Wednesday. Really hope it looks better than the roughed-in graphic they had two days ago — the proportions and angles on the football player were way off. Kind of thought it looked awful!

Hope it’s reasonably priced. This area desperately needs a place like this.
