Coolest Roommate Contest Entry #5

“It’s been 11 years (wow) since I met my roommate Andrea when we were freshman environmental studies majors at the University of Maryland. Flash forward to 2007, and after several years in different cities (and sometimes different continents) we’ve found ourselves in the same city again – here are a few reasons why Andrea just might be the coolest roommate in all of PoPville:

We successfully shared a tiny dorm room our sophomore year in college – thankfully we’ve progressed since then to a 2BR apt in Mt. P!

She loves my cats despite their crazy antics (sometimes encouraging the craziness, actually), and takes care of them when I’m out of town.

I don’t know how I managed to find another half-Bolivian, environmentally and socially conscious roommate like myself but it’s cool that we have alot of that stuff in common (personality-wise we’re quite different though). Her other side is German, which makes for an interesting mix, let me tell you!

She’s CLEAN – (seriously, she steam vacuumed our carpets last weekend!) and a few weeks ago when we went through the most stressful move I’ve ever been through, I was REALLY glad to have her there to get through it together.

And last but not least, she’s just generally a fun, energetic person who keeps life interesting – whether she’s cooking up a spicy curry in the kitchen or mixing up a martini, out on a bike ride or discussing the latest current events (she has opinions and is not afraid to express them!) I suppose her downside is that she has a tendency to burn things (while cooking) — I’ve never heard of anyone else burning a boiled egg – lol!”

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
