From a press release:

“Glen’s Garden Market will open its second store on Saturday, December 5th in Shaw (1924 8th St NW) with a Grand Opening Party from 12PM-8PM. The all-local grocery store opened its first location in Dupont Circle on Earth Day, 2013. While a slightly smaller space, the Shaw location will provide nearly all of the same offerings as its sister store including groceries, fresh, local produce, a full-service deli and a craft beer and wine bar. The new space will also feature indoor and covered outdoor seating.

“We’re thrilled to bring Glen’s Garden Market to Shaw, and we can’t wait to meet our new neighbors! We’re also excited to launch our 50th food small business at our grand opening party on Saturday – we grow small businesses along with our own!”

Glen’s Garden Market was founded by Danielle Vogel to make incremental climate change progress. In addition to sourcing locally – and minimizing transportation and refrigeration emissions – the stores operate under a no-waste mandate, meaning the kitchens generate no food waste. The stores recycle, compost and offer only reusable bags, sending no plastic back into the watershed. All containers and flatware are either compostable or recyclable. The stores were built using locally reclaimed materials and only the most energy efficient equipment available. The Dupont location was recognized by the Green Impact Campaign as being maximally energy efficient, and the store is powered by wind.

Since Glen’s first opened its doors in 2013, the market has helped launch 50 local food businesses. Throughout the month of December, the brands that got their start on Glen’s Garden Market’s shelves will be highlighted through a program called 24 Days of Glen’s (#24DaysofGlens). Daily posts on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter will announce where and when neighbors can find their favorite vendors.

Glen’s Garden Market – Shaw will be open weekdays 11AM-9PM and weekends 9AM-9PM.”

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
