  • i wonder if they’re gonna tear down that little strip of shops and put something taller in their place. That could explain why they’re allegedly going away until after 2016.

  • That’s not what his original note said. On February 25 he posted a note that said he was closed permanently due to his lease and maintenance issues with the location. Obviously he’s changed his mind about the permanently part, which is good news.

  • I know a contractor who was one in the upstairs levels of this building, and it sounds like this is LONG over due. I was always too scared to eat there after hearing how disgusting the rest of the building was.

  • I hope he does come back… but 2016 is a long time away, and if the building is being massively redone… rents are going to be even more expensive than they are now.

  • i don’t think there’s anywhere else in admo where the owner will personally wait on you, make small talk with you and learn your name. really cool guy. also, to the previous commenter, i’ve been in the kitchen (had to walk through in order to get to the restroom) and things looked pretty spick ‘n span.

  • At last month’s 1B ABC Committee meeting, we heard that the owners of Bardia’s were opening a new place on the corner of Vermont and U Street.

    News on Bardia’s new venture while the construction happens at his 18th Street location. He does hope to return as does Angie at Beauty Tu You after the building renovations are complete next year.
