  • Is the Dunbar track open to the public at all?

  • Note for anyone visiting the pool: the entrance is in the rear of the school on what is essentially the southwest corner of 1st and O NW. There is a sign at the entrance indicating the pool’s community hours, which I imagine will be updated soon. When the weekend community hours first began about a year ago, the pool was REALLY cold. It’s much more comfortable now. Happy swimming!

And neighbor, Dunbar has said they’d make the track accessible to the public after football season. I wouldn’t hold my breath. The principal has basically taken the position that the school is his and that he doesn’t owe the neighborhood anything…

  • i just want to give a shout out to ANC Commish Nigro who fought to get this open to the public and expand the hours. Total hero!

    • +1. I used to live in Rachelle Nigro’s ANC boundaries. Although I appreciated her then, I appreciate her even more now that she’s not my ANC rep. She works way harder than a lot of others in the same role, which is especially remarkable because it’s a volunteer position.

  • What about cardozo? They said it would be open to public, but I can’t find anything on it.

  • Has anyone figured out the public hours for the Cardozo pool? I still can’t find anything online (have yet to call, certainly an option).
