  • $14 for a burrito?! I’ll pass.

    • That is insane.

    • I guess you’d like a sit-down meal at a new, clean establishment – with table service – for the same price as ordering pizza? Yep, seems reasonable.
FWIW, I think that they went a big higher-end than the Pug here because neighbors were concerned about a loud college bar. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t.

I went last weekend with a friend and he got the burrito. It’s huge, like Chipotle sized. Doesn’t seem that unreasonably priced to me. You pay $10 for Chipotle, which is fast food. $14 seems about right for a better quality burrito in a sit down restaurant with good service.

  • Can’t wait to try this place. Just wish it was in Petworth.

  • “Taylor Pork Roll Ham”

While I appreciate the effort, that it NOT what it’s called.

    • At one point I think it was officially called “Taylor Ham” — and that’s what we always called it when I was a kid. I think maybe the rules for what constitutes “ham” either changed or got enforced differently. In any case, it’s yummy stuff — and nice to see it on a menu.

      • Pork roll is the generic name – like ham, or salami. Taylor Ham is the original brand, and at one time, that was the name of the product. (And it’s still the best). I think you’re right about the reason it changed – something to do with the proper definition of ham. In any event, “Taylor Pork Roll Ham” is just wrong.

    • Wait, can you get Taylor Ham somewhere around here? I must have some.

      • Try a Giant or Safeway. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen the boxes with the slices recently, although it’s been a LONG time since I’ve seen the rolls that you could slice yourself. Taylor Ham and eggs is heaven!

      • Giant (some Giants, at least) have little red boxes that contain 4-8 meager slices. If you want the rolls, you need to import them. But, if you have a craving, this looks fine (although (Taylor Ham and anything “Benedict” seem incongruous). Or, go to G Sandwich and get the Jersey Mac – $7.00 worth of yumminess. Or do what I do, and get $14.00 worth of twice the yumminess.

    Next PoPville brunch venue?

They do use the word “sammy”, but I’ll try any place once.

    • That was my thought. (Although won’t the next PoPville brunch be on a Sunday? If so, I’ll miss it.)
The French toast sounds very tasty!

  • Good food, decent vibe, terrible name, and a really uncomfortable bar to eat at. I’m tallish, 6’3′, and I literally had to stand to eat because there is no leg room.

  • I was a bit put off by the prices a bit too $12 for breakfast sandwich? That said, I got it anyway and it was massive. There must have been like 4 scrambled eggs. Could have used some more porkroll but you can never have enough of that in my books. I will say $8 for the bread basket is a lil’ high for what you get though.
