Smith Public Trust Soft Opens in Brookland – Have a Peek Inside and at an early Menu

3514 12th Street, NE

A reader updates on Brookland’s newest opening – Smith Public Trust:

“Wanted to let you know that I stopped into Smith Public trust on 12th street in brookland tonight and they’re in the process if their soft opening. Tomorrow they’ll be having craft brew specials for the US game ($5 drafts) and are planning to have specials throughout the cup (paring food with the country- ie, mussels for when Belgium plays)”

  • They’ve actually been “soft open” since Saturday. Really cool space (including a bleacher room not shown here with a HUGE TV and separate bar). Killer beer selection (lots of Ommegang). Good food, although not without the need for some tweaks (nachos needed to be spicier, but pico and guac were perfect).

  • Though it looks a bit dark, it looks 10X better than when it was Kitty O’Shea’s!

  • And the nachos are delicious!

  • Do the forks and knives really have handles made of bones?
