  • A cheaply renovated walk-up in an old building in Petworth is not worth anywhere near that much. That should cost $1200/month at most.

    • I recently rented out my basement (a few blocks south, a little closer to Metro) for $1250/month including utilities. My tenant was coming from a building just on the other side of the Metro where her studio was $1,400/month.

  • Good deal. $1500-$1600 is perfectly normal for your own apartment 2 blocks from metro and across from brand new grocery store in NW.

Super convenient–you could basically jump out your window into the metro, to Safeway, Qualia, 7-11.

But why did they have to put in those horrible kitchen cabinets in what looks like a fairly new remodel in a hot hot area?

Looks like they’re trying to hide that funky bump out in the (tiny) bedroom. Is that what’s above the staircase?

  • This looks like where Zoe Barnes lives.

  • Nicely renovated apartments on the Columbia Heights side of Georgia and near the Petworth metro are going for $1700-$1800. I wouldn’t pay that for this one. Where is the bathroom pic? Plus it’s above a couple businesses. One is a barber shop. No thank you.

Is there a specific hazard about living above a barber shop I’m missing? I feel like the possibility of your place smelling like Jamaican food 24/7 would be the real issue about the businesses below.

    • The constant buzz of hair clippers at 3am would definitely keep me up at night. Barbershops are (almost) the worst – close second to nail salons.

  • A little overpriced, but not terrible. It should at least include utilities. Don’t discount the dishwasher and W/D in unit.

  • the photo of the white wall/corner is awesome.

  • Is this gone already? The link to the pictures don’t work.

But that one corner is pretty sketchy — I wouldn’t live one it for that much.

  • I actually looked at this unit (or the other one that’s across the hall) about three years ago. At that time it was I think $1400 plus utilities. The apartment was average, cheaply renovated and even for the 15 minutes I was there looking at it on a weekend afternoon, it was super loud.
