  • Yup, that’s a good deal.

  • Ridiculously good deal. They don’t even need to open it up to pet owners at that price but I’m glad they do!

  • Wow. That actually is a pretty sweet deal!

This will be under lease before the weekend is over, if it’s not already.

  • Great deal. Just two blocks to the new Giant and very close to all the 14th Street action and City Center DC.

  • Good deal

  • ugh! i don’t care where it’s located or how nice it is, i’d never pay that much to live in a basement!

    • Well, it’s a good deal BECAUSE it’s located in a basement. If it wasn’t, it’d probably go for a lot more. For reference, one bedroom/one bath plus den apts. (860 sq ft) at City Market at O (one block away) start at $2,708. Two bedrooms start at $3,016 and go up to $5,129.

      • I don’t think you can compare a basement unit to the brand spanking new luxury places at City Market. That said, I think this is a fine deal for a guy. As a woman, I wouldn’t want to live in a basement unit in that part of town… as much as I love the area (I really do), I don’t think it’s safe enough for a gal like me to shack up in a basement.

      • I get that this is the hottest neighborhood in the metro area, and so a rent like that is only possible in a basement unit – but I also would never live in a basement – and for me that means never living in the hottest neighborhood in the metro area. I can see it makes sense for some who works 16 hours a day, or who is out a night spots when not at work, or who travels most of the time. But some of us want to be home sometimes, and need natural light.

As for City Center, my understanding is its brand new with lots of amenities. Even an above ground unit in a row house on 10th street is probably not comparable.

  • This is a good deal, but I hope the landlord takes better care of the inside of the building than he/she does of the outside.

  • Just walked past this today and thought it was a for sale fixer-upper. 10th Street is a beautiful quiet residential street and I wish they wouldn’t call the area Logan Circle; this is pure Shaw with no subheading (except maybe O St. Market which some have tried to press).

    • 10th St. NW really straddles the Logan/Shaw boundary line. According to the Logan Circle Community Association, 9th St. NW is the eastern boundary of the Logan Circle neighborhood. According to Google and Wikipedia, 10th St. NW is the eastern boundary of Logan. The zip code boundary map has 11th St. NW as the eastern boundary of Logan. Whether or not Logan is part of Shaw is another argument.
