  • Interesting to me that all the fancy expensive homes in G-town and the rest of the 20007 zip went for less than the asking price. For example, the $8M home went for $7M. Just an observation.

    • I’m guessing people are listing houses too aggressively there. That, or because Georgetown isn’t as desirable of neighborhood in comparison to other areas of the city.

        I wouldn’t say it’s less desirable, as witnessed by the home prices. The problem there is that the number of buyers in that spectrum is significantly smaller than in other zip codes, therefore it’s to the buyer’s advantage to negotiate more heavily, since he may not have competition. In hotter markets like Logan Circle or Capitol Hill you have to constantly worry about bidding wars for virtually every property.
