  • Holy f*ck that’s expensive.

  • Well that’s a big ol’ pile of NOPE! $7,100 a month? Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t that about equal to a monthly mortgage payment on a $1 Million+ home, taxes included?

    • Yup. The place was sold in 2011 for a little north of $1 million. So these people are trying to cover their mortgage.

That’s risk you take when buying a high priced place like this. It’s really hard to rent it out, as not many people are going to drop more than $7K on rent. If you have to move for work, you’re pretty much screwed.

If they don’t have a definitive return date, I’d advise them to sell it. They are going to be sinking a lot of money into this place for every month that it’s empty.

  • They are counting 3 bedrooms plus the room in the attic. But one of the 3 bedrooms is not a legal bedroom (the picture of the office). No closet in there so legally it’s not a bedroom. Plus it’s tiny as hell.

So assuming you have 3 people in the house it’s $2,366 PLUS utilities (tack on $100 each min). And that’s with 2 in the main bedrooms and one in the attic. If they get a 4th no way would that person pay over $2,300 to live in that room that would barely hold a single bed.

And the owner wants to sell the furniture in the backyard? God, can this guy get any greedier? It’s not like you are going to take that furniture with you so just leave it for the renters. It’s the least you can do if you plan on bleeding them dry.

This is one of the worst deals I’ve ever seen on POP.

    • It’s obvious they are moving away for quite a long time, as they are looking to offload furniture.

Why don’t they just sell it? In this hot market, they can probably get $1.2 or $1.3 million for the place. They will be selling at the peak of a very strong sellers market. It ain’t gonna be like this in a few years.

    • a closet isn’t what determines a legal bedroom. A bedroom is required to have two points of entry, i.e. a door and a window.

  • It’s a ridiculous price for sure, but some diplomatic staffer with unlimited funds and a poor understanding of the current exchange rate will snap it up in no time.

    • Exactly right – this isn’t going to be rented to three/four unrelated college students – it will go to a family whose company/country will be footing the bill.

  • Are you fucking kidding me?

  • Worst rental I’ve ever seen on here.

  • Just signed the lease! Who hoo!
