14th and T St, NW
Back in July 2011 we learned that Matchbox would be moving into the former Arena Stage building at the corner of 14th and T St, NW across from St. Ex. The scaffolding has been removed and you can really see the building returning to life:

Lots of progress on the inside too, remember the space was completely gutted:

And this always blows me away, check out what 14th and T Street looked like in 1986. The Matchbox will be going into the building on the corner that has the sign – “All Power to the Imagination”:

Mat, Thanks again for your support; and your point is well taken.
Wow, didn’t even recognize the building with the scaffolding down!
What’s going on with the other building across the street that abuts Policy? It looks like they were going to add apartments in there for the last two years, as all the windows still have the manufacturer’s stickers on them. However, nothing has happened there and the rooms look empty. What’s the deal with that place?

Google maps shows it as being a separate property from the building that houses Policy (which surrounds it on 3 sides).
There’s a rustic Italian restaurant going in downstairs. I’ve heard rumors an interior designer might take the upstairs. http://www.princeofpetworth.com/2012/01/stubs-kitchen-and-wine-coming-to-1401-t-st-nw/
I love seeing old pictures of DC.
Note that under the word “WAREHOUSE” it says “Source”, because that was and still is the Source Theatre there.
Matchbox is pretty lame.
The Matchbox burger is still good, but the last two pizzas I had there really sucked. The crust was like Red Baron frozen pizza. WTF happened?
i’ve only eaten at the one on h street. but the crabcake is decent. the fire and smoke pizza is the only pizza they have i can stomach. otherwise, it’s not that exciting. and definitely not exciting by 14th street options.
matchbox is pretty awesome. i asked someone in management and they said they will be open around christmas.
This is awesome!! I am so excited about Matchbox coming to the neighborhood. And….THANK YOU former Mayor Williams for your vision for this city.
Pretty sure The Warehouse is where I saw Del perform in ’99…
Can we hurry up and finish 14th street so we can move on to 7th?!?!
Really, do we need yet ANOTHER place on 14th ST??
oh.. you’re not up on the future developments, are you? there are a TON of places set to open next year.
