This has extinguished any lingering doubts I had about not dining in Adams Morgan. But...
Oh, one more rant/rave
Rave: Our vet did an AMAZING job on my dog's ACL surgery....
Rant: refinancing. What a pain in the butt. It's like, "oh, no, we forgot that we also...
I used to be a huge fan of Jazz in the Garden but now that everyone has caught on to it,...
Too modern. Does not jive with surrounding buildings.
Right, because the big, empty vacant lot looked so much better. I don’t know why everybody around here thinks that developers should make all new buildings look old.
This looks perfectly acceptable to me.
It’s fine and adds some visual character to a (non-historic) stretch of buildings. The new UHOP apartment building is FAR worse than this.
To me, it’s not that it’s too modern, it’s just too blah.
I actually preferred the lot. We don’t need more residential rowhouses along rhode island avenue, we need more commercial.
This comment makes no sense. What else should they have built on a lot that is zoned residential?
Think harder.
Well, what should they have built on this residential lot instead of another residence?
The zoning needs to be changed. Actually it’s already in the process of changing.
I’m not sure that the homeowners next door would want one random commercial building there…. (which could end up being a crappy liquor store for example)
They made a teeny bit of effort to fit in with the neighboring architecture… but only a teeny one.
Could be worse, I suppose, but it could also be a lot better.
Ugly. The least they could have down would have been to choose windows that better fit the nearby buildings. Is this another cinderblock house?
I kinda like it.
It’s amazing what they can make out of cardboard these days.
anyone have rental information for this place?
DC should rezone it and similar lots Thunderdome, so blog commenters can sort things out with some civility; and by civility, I mean chainsaws and baseball bats.
