Sweet Charleston’s No Longer Coming to H Street, NE
1348 H St, NE
Back in Aug. 2011 we found out a new restaurant from the folks behind Carolina Kitchen in Hyattsville were going to bring a new restaurant, Sweet Charleston’s, to 1348 H St, NE. Apparently it didn’t work out as the building is for lease again. It’s a cool looking space so it’ll be interesting to see who ends up with the space.

Thankfully, H Street is being saved from subpar soul food! Carolina Kitchen has the worst food, in my opinion. The space looks nice though.
How about that taco stand that was going to open a permanent location on this block – any updates?
Noticing a disturbing trend…it appears that quite a few restaurants are starting build out only to pull out at the last minute…I was looking forward to Sweet Charleston’s – let’s hope its replaced by another local business.
