  • I ate there about 2 weeks ago. It was a welcome break from Sweet Mango’s, the Curried Goat was 10x better than that of Sweet Mangoes, and they don’t have a chimney belting out charcoal fumes onto the street, like Sweet Mango’s does. I think they’re pretty safe now that Browns Bakery and Tropicana have closed, this neighborhood was a little bit over-run by Jamaican restaurants in the 200s…

    • As a former resident of the above apartment, while it’s nice that the fumes aren’t emitted to the street, they were always emitted up into the above apartments, unfortunately.

  • Never knew about it. Will check it out soon.

  • I live in the neighborhood and LOVE Pink Snapper for two reasons: (1) great food at great prices, (2) unlike Sweet Mango, they deliver!

I ate there a month ago and liked it. A bit greasy (some Jamaican dishes tend to be no matter where you get it, I’ve observed. ), but you can’t beat the portions and prices.

  • I’ve never been to this place. But, if you ever find yourself at the intersection of North Cap and R NW, go to Jam Doung Style. Fantastic Jamaican food.

  • I used to go there a lot when it opened, but I haven’t been there for awhile. I agree that it is better, and cheaper, than Sweet Mango.

  • Any veggie options? Sweet Mango has yummy curry tofu.

  • Sounds nice for a sit-down place. I usually just walk the four blocks to Andrene’s, which for Jamaican carryout is hard to beat.

  • I live around the corner and I’m a big fan of the curry goat and beef patties. Much better service than Sweet Mango.
