900 19th St, NW
BONMi opened up in the former Sandella’s space at 19th and I St, NW in Oct. 2011. You can see their sandwiches here. Any fans?

Hope you get her back soon
Unfortunately, many of the older residents would prefer empty storefronts over anything...
I had a Yorkie and it pains me to recall thoughts of when my see you next Tuesday gf left...
I hope your prayers are answered.
Our thoughts are with you.
Yes love it! I understand they are starting a food truck too. Can never have too many takes on a banh mi.
yep! I get the five spice chickened and the tofu banh mi regularly. they’re tasty. they also are good with handing out free coupons/deals.
Where is this? Is this like L & 19th?
I like this place a lot
Quite good. A little pricey for the portion size, but tasty. And the bread had a crisp crust.
It’s good, but not great. I had higher hopes.
Is that pronounced “Bone Me”?
If we are lucky.
ha ha!
bon me
I agree – this is a pretty weak attempt at a banh mi.
Even G St. Foods makes a better one.
I had high hopes for it but it hasn’t lived up to my expectations.
I’ve gone 3-4 times and the bread has always been stale. Not good.
Yum! I love this place! I think the traditional BonMi is the best one I’ve tried so far. Every time I’ve been the bread and ingredients have all been super fresh and tasty.
Highly enjoyable.
Kickshaw salad with half mushrooms half chicken is SO good.
Excellent! The Vietnamese iced coffee is like crack too, and it’s made in house each day.
It’s decent (which means better than 90% of the lunch spots out there). It won’t give you an orgasmically perfect and authentic banh mi experience, but if you walked into this place expecting that you’re pretty naive.
I was sorely disappointed. I thought the spring rolls were horrible and the bahn mi barely passable. If you want good bahn mi downtown during lunch…i suggest wanting something else (or getting lucky that the food truck is near).
I will never eat at any place that gives me facile behavioral directives on the awning.
Love it…great place to go for lunch. (i think they have breakfast now too)
Always fresh ingrediants….good quality
The name, like the sandwich, is a basterdized banh mi.
Fantastic sandwich! The employees are very friendly! I don’t know if they are still doing it, but they have a sandwich Happy Hour from like 3pm-4pm (I think), where all remaining sandwiches are $5. Ingredients are always fresh!
The kickshaw salad with choice of meat/tofu and peanut sauce is great.
Hate to put this out there, may jack up the prices, but
Ba Le Vietnamese Deli, 1527 University Blvd E, Langley Park, (301) 434-5470
Yes! That is my go-to banh mi place. They already upped their prices 50 cents recently, but I don’t even mind because they’re still quite affordable ($3.50 for most sandwiches, $4 for the admittedly superior grilled pork – and buy 5, get 1 free!). Bonus: H&A supermarket next door has great prices and a great selection of Asian and Latin foods.
